I just want to start by congratulating the Year 7 pupils who have settled in superbly well.  The standard of uniform is excellent, they look great and form tutors have all commented on their lovely manners and willingness to work hard and try new things.  It was my turn to deliver an assembly to each year group this week and when I had finished on Monday, (Year7's day) Miss Gallagher showed the achievement points by form group - I couldn't believe how many the year group had accumulated in the first three days!  Long may this continue.

Mrs Whitfield tells me the school production, 'The Wizard of Oz' is a week ahead of schedule, the first time ever this has happened!  Apparently this is due to the fantastic work of the munchkins! I can’t wait for the production to come; (14th-16th October) it is sure to be a sell-out for all three nights.

Being an avid fan of Rugby League, I couldn't have been prouder of three of our ex-pupils this week.  On Thursday night I watched Luke Thompson have an excellent game for St Helens when they won at Castleford and then on Friday we had an all St Edmund Arrowsmith left wing partnership for Wigan, with Oliver Gildart playing left centre and Joe Burgess left wing, both of whom had excellent games with Wigan beating Hull.  It was only a few years ago that all three were playing in the same very successful school team.  I wish them every success for the remainder of the season.
