Miss Brophy (Head of Science) showed me a fantastic resource this week that the Year 11 Science GCSE pupils can access to help then revise their GCSE work.  All Year 11 pupils have now been given free access to the site. The website contains over 230 video tutorials to help Year 11 pupils further develop their own knowledge and understanding of the GCSE Science content. It also provides access to exam questions and mark schemes for each topic, so they can apply their learning and check their own level of understanding. Each child in Year 11 now has their own username and password to access the website.  The website is http://www.my-gcsescience.com/.  If any Year 11 parents are reading this but don’t know anything about it, (I know what that is like with my own sons!) the letter sent home regarding this can be found in the ‘Letters’ section of the school website.

On Friday we held a wonderful Mass, led by Fr John Gorman, at St. Oswald’s church to welcome our Year 7 pupils to the school.  I could not have been prouder of the way all pupils contributed to the Mass, either in reading, singing, bringing the offertory or simply being reverent during their time in church.  They have had a fantastic start to their time at our school; I am sure this will continue for their next 5 years.  I would also like to thank the many parents who attended the Mass; we had to use both of the side chapels to accommodate everyone. Your presence and support were very much appreciated by the pupils and the school.
