On Wednesday we held our annual ‘Open Evening’ which was extremely well attended - more people attended than ever before.  It was great to see prospective and existing parents with their children, looking around the school.  It was also great to see how many former pupils took the opportunity to come back to see their teachers again. As we say: you are always very welcome; you never leave St Edmund Arrowsmith! I was so pleased

Melissa Pace raised over £400 for Little Princess Trust

to see so many of our pupils from all year groups coming back to help on the evening.  A special mention must go to our Year 11 prefects who showed our guests around the school; they were quite simply superb and represented the school fantastically well.  Our pupils are definitely our best advert.

Miss Wood (Geography) told me that she has had excellent work this week from several pupils. Kalan Leather produced a fantastic piece of classwork. He drew a population pyramid and annotated it superbly well. The10A class have also produced some fabulous presentations about coastal management. They had to work in small groups to design a speech, model and poster to explain how hard engineering strategies work. Please see below an example of the excellent work being produced by Year 10.

I was delighted to hear this week that Melissa Pace in 10M2, has raised over £400 through school and online donations for the Little Princess Trust. She has had her hair cut short and donated it to charity so that wigs can be made for children who have lost their own hair due to chemotherapy treatment for cancer. What a wonderful thing to do. We are very proud of you, Melissa!
