Year 9 produced some fantastic work

We had a really busy week to round off the first half-term of the year.  The music department have been especially busy with a whole host of different activities: Year 9 pupils have been working in bands on 'Seven Nation Army' by the White Stripes and produced some fantastic work. In the pictures are Isabel Egan, Amalea Grundy, Teagan Feerick, Katelyn Dardis and Bethany Chorley; who were all superb. I also went to see the concert band practising on the last day and they were brilliant too. Keep up the hard work; the practice is definitely paying off.

Miss Gallagher's Year 7 Spanish class looked at the Mexican festival of El Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) in class this week and produced some outstanding work. Mr Higham showed the pupils a cartoon video documentary of the festival to introduce the theme and the pupils then had a lot of fun, (as did Miss Gallagher and Mr Higham!), decorating gingerbread men and shortbread biscuits with icing and sweets to recreate key figures and motifs of the festival.  I must remember to get myself an invite to the next lesson!
