The school has been a hive of activity this week, with various fundraising activities taking place for our partner school in South Africa, 'The Brick' homeless charity in Wigan and the Nugent Care Society.  I could not be any prouder of the pupils and staff who have given so much of their time, effort and money to make the world a slightly better place for people they do not know this Christmas.

There has also been lots of work going on as well! Miss Westwell in the Maths department informed me that Luke Texon Y11, Ysabelle Harris Y8, Sam Tyrer Y11, Nolan Harrison Y9, Kian Ridings Y8, Mary Jane McLaughlin Y7, Rachel Thorpe Y8, Chloe Howard Y11, Charlotte Gothard Y9, Gracie O'Gorman Y9, Lauren Cundliffe Y8 and Leah Hargreaves Y8 have all receiced a ‘Golden Ticket’ because of their excellence in Maths.  Every teacher in Maths gives out one Golden Ticket fortnightly to any pupil of their choice for outstanding effort and each of the pupils receives five achievement points and gets entered into a termly prize draw where they have the chance to win a voucher.  Mr Whitfield informed me that Olivia Harrald and Antonia Rout (Y9) produced two outstanding pieces of work in a spreadsheets project in Computing. Well done to all!

Can I wish the whole school community a very happy and holy Christmas.
