Music FestivalIt has been a really exciting week in school this week! On Wednesday and Thursday evening we had our first ever Music Festival evenings, where pupils from the music department played solo pieces to an audience ofparents and teachers, with Mr Doyle, Mrs Morgan and Mr Wall (St. John Rigby College) adjudicating and giving the pupils some instant feedback on their performances.  All the pupils were nervous as they took their positions to perform, but all did brilliantly; I was so proud of all of them. I hope the Music department do it again next year!

BBC journalist visits pupils at schoolOn Thursday we had senior journalists from the BBC visit the school as part of our ongoing collaboration, Mrs McLoughlin and Mrs Graham looked after them and worked really hard with the pupils all day.  They were really impressed with the school and the result is that a piece created and produced by our pupils will be broadcast on the World Service on Thursday!!  Wow, what a fantastic tribute to all of the hard work and effort; I can’t wait to listen!

Miss Gallagher told me that Year 7 have had another brilliant week. The current achievement point totals are: in 3rd place - Danielle Halsall, Joshua McHenry and Francesca Smith; in 2nd place - Elizabeth Crean and in 1st place are Tyler Jones, Lily Webster and Aedan Hambleton. Special mentions to Fleur Sandbach, 7O who achieved the bronze library award and Mary-Jane McLaughlin 7W and Danielle Halsall 7M who achieved the silver library Award.  Fantastic work Year 7, keep it up!
