We held a very successful Year 7 Guidance Evening on Thursday. It was a great chance to speak to parents about how well Year 7 have settled into the school and how we track pupil progress over the year. Thank you to all parents who attended on Thursday - your support, as ever, is much appreciated.
Miss Harley told me Year 7 have had another excellent week. Top achievement points this week for the girls were: in 3rd place Layla Thorpe, 7C, with 13 points, in 2nd, Caitlyn Lane, 7G, with 18 points and in 1st place was Sophie Morris, 7H, with 22. For the boys, in joint 2rd place was Reece Jeremy, 7C, with 11 points and Oliver Shiel, 7G, with 11 and in 1st place was Jake Southworth, 7W, with 12. Excellent work, keep it up! Congratulations to Izzy Kelleher, 7W and Reece Jeremy, 7C who achieved their Bronze Library Award this week.
Miss Hall sent me a brilliant piece of work by Sophie Morris (7H) in her Spanish class this week. Fantastic work, Sophie!
Miss Gallagher told me that Year 8 have worked very hard this week and have collected a total of 577 achievement points. This will all contribute to The Term 1B Year 8 Challenge. Pupils in Year 8 are 'on a mission' to collect as many achievement points as possible in a four- week period. The deadline is Friday 16th December. At the moment, Charlie Coffey (8B) is in the lead with 17 achievement points, Gemma Unsworth (8C) is in second place with 16 achievement points and finally, Ella Halsall (8C) is in third place with 13 achievement points. The lucky winner will be rewarded with a mini iPod; good luck everyone! Pupils in 8A have worked exceptionally hard this week and have been awarded 0 behaviour points. Well done to Miss McCabe's form! Pupils in 8A and 8O have been exceptionally punctual and have a zero late record; congratulations to Miss McCabe's and Mrs Hollins' forms! Congratulations to Miss Mahon's form, 8C, who have worked tirelessly to earn 185 achievement points this week; congratulations to 8C! Finally, huge congratulations to the following Year 8 boys who have been selected to take part in The Year 8 Wigan Athletic Programme which starts with an introductory evening on Monday 12th December: Isaac Eaves, Nathan Williams, Patrick Harrison, Ciaran Prendergast, Connor Malone, Jamie Dennis, Kai Pickavance, Matthew McGuire, Oliver Bassett and Joshua Knowles.
Keep working hard Year 8!
