It was a particularly busy week this week, with Ofsted inspecting our school on Wednesday.  I will write to parents with the outcomes as soon as I receive the official letter.  I was so proud of the pupils, they were fantastic and many thanks to parents for their overwhelming support; it is greatly appreciated.

Year 8 continue to produce outstanding work.  Mr Reardon told me that Jack Steele leads this week's achievement points on 12 points, with Jodie Latham and Josh McHenry a close second and third. A special mention to 8W who managed 100% attendance this week. It was a great effort from all pupils in the form!  Mrs Scott told me that her Year 8 class have been writing love poems in the style of John Cooper Clarke. All have done really well, but the class competition winners were Lily Webster, Olivia Forshaw, Maria Evans and Mathew Ashcroft, who produced the poem below:

I Wanna Be Yours

I wanna be your spotify
You can listen to me when you cry

Let me be your Amazon Fire
Endless love is my desire

Let me be your Bluetooth
I can connect to you

I will be your ITV News
Everything I say is true

I'll love you to the moon and back
Like Wikipedia, what I'm saying is fact

I think they should phone Clintons to see if they are interested in putting it in a Valentine’s Day card!

On Wednesday, we had a great educative experience for our GCSE History pupils who were treated to Saxon re-enactments of fighting, plus lots of historical facts - please see the website for the full story!
