I hope you all had a great summer holiday! I certainly feel refreshed after a good holiday, part of it was spent at Mr Eyes’ (former Deputy Headteacher) house in the South of France and it was great to see him looking so healthy – thankfully, he has fully recovered from his illness.

I really enjoyed ‘Results Day’ at the end of August. All the staff were delighted to see so many happy faces with so many outstanding performances. Congratulations to our class of 2017; we are very proud of you and wish you every success in the future.

Many thanks to Father John, Deacon John, Chaplain Maria and everyone who helped support the Year 11 Welcome Mass on Friday. It was a great occasion and the perfect way to start such an important year.

All year groups have started extremely well, with pupils impressing their new teachers. For example, Mr Reardon told me that in Year 9, they have collectively acquired over 300 achievement points in the first week! The year group have really started how they mean to go on with seven forms not collecting a single behaviour point and three registering 100% attendance. An excellent start - keep up the good work Year 9!

Can I urge all parents to download our new school app. on to their phones, as it is a great way to keep informed of everything happening at school. The app. is called ‘My Ed’ and you simply need to use the same email address we have for you in school and you will then be able to see the details of all the children you have in school, receive push notifications etc.

I look forward to sharing all the wonderful examples of pupil work with you this year on this blog!
