"I enjoy science because you learn stuff that will matter in your life. I particularly like chemistry because to understand reactions you have to test it out, or in other words, carry out lots of experiments. It is taught in a way so that you learn but also have fun at the same time. I have also joined Science Club where we have a science related quiz and then we do an experiment- it could be to do with making soap, creating elephant’s toothpaste, firing rockets or creating images by burning alcohol. It allows you to make new friends and improve your knowledge of science in a really fun and exciting way."

James – Year 8

"I chose triple science because I wanted to learn more about the sciences than I would in core lessons and because, in the future, I would like to work in the field of medicine. I hope to be a neurosurgeon and so taking triple science will help me on this career path. I also think that studying triple science will help me to have a better understanding of the work I will get at A-Level. This year I have also had the opportunity to participate in the regional ChemQuiz competition. This was a great day which built on my ability to work well as part of a team, my knowledge of chemistry, and allowed me to experience working in a university lab."
