The first three weeks of term have been especially busy, with a Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy information evening for parents, Y11 Parents’ Evening and numerous information sessions for our Y9 pupils about option choices, plus two very successful Guidance Evenings for Y9 parents to discuss the option choices their sons/daughters are considering.  Couple this with many extra-curricular activities as well as it being a very busy time in our curriculum for all year groups and it all adds up to a brilliant but tiring start to the term!!

I would like to share some truly outstanding achievements from our pupils. Last weekend Ella Halsall completed the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Level 2 chosen by the Wigan Army Cadet Force who recognised her ability as a leader - what a fantastic achievement!  Alicia Johnson competed in Glasgow last weekend at the Scottish International Gymnastics competition, finishing 2nd out of 25 competitors, again an amazing achievement!

In other news, Megan Stowell  in 7A has really been working above and beyond in geography as she made her own little rainfall weather system with electronics and hot water to demonstrate the water cycle process as the class are studying weather and climate.  She then stood up in front of the class and explained it to everyone.  Fantastic work Megan!

Historians of the week are Caitlin Morgan in 10L for her outstanding revision for her Germany exam and Lydia Swindell in 7B for her excellent effort in her homework on medieval cures. Keep up the good work!
