6 November 2018

Thursday 1st November marked All Saints Day. As a school, in honour of this feast, we celebrated Mass at 3:15 in the main hall. Students, teachers and parents were all invited to attend if they wished to and it was really lovely to see so many people stay behind after the busy school day and participate in Mass.

Mass was led by Fr John Gorman who kindly came over from Our Lady Immaculate in Bryn. In his sermon he spoke about the great northern saints that we remember in particular at this time. We remembered especially our own namesake – St Edmund Arrowsmith.

The atmosphere in Mass was reflective and peaceful as the day began to darken and the hall was lit with the candles from the altar. It was a really nice way to end the working day – celebrating Mass with our school community and I look forward to the next Masses and services we have lined up in school.
