Year 7

Schemes of work include: The Pied Piper, Darkwood Manor, Slapstick Comedy, Detectives, Matilda.

You will:

  • Learn how to make, perform and evaluate drama.
  • Explore stories, themes, and different styles of drama.
  • Develop skills of speaking and listening, working in a group.
  • Transfer skills into all other subjects where group work is used.
  •  Experiment with mime, movement, voice.
Year 8

Schemes of work include: Communication, Stone Cold, The Bully, Melodrama, Soap Operas and Musical Theatre.

You will:

  • Learn how to make, perform and evaluate drama.
  • Explore issues such as homelessness and bullying.
  • Develop skills of performing in front of an audience.
  • Transfer skills into class assemblies and presentations.
  • Experiment with improvising, working on a script.
Year 9

Schemes of work include: Alcohol and Respect, Romeo and Juliet, Physical Theatre, Script work, Locked Up, Our Day Out.

You will:

  • Learn how to make, perform and evaluate drama.
  • Explore different styles of drama from physical theatre to script work.
  • Develop an understanding of different types of drama.  
  • Transfer skills into devising own performances in class.
  • Experiment with use of music, lighting, and props.
  • Learn how to write about drama in preparation for GCSE.
