Much of the Reflection on my Learning (self-evaluation), following PDC activities takes place during Form, time with the Review Tutor.  All pupils have a PDC folder where all work is kept.  The role of the Review Tutor ensures that pupils have greater access to a concerned and interested adult.  This is especially evident when focusing on the Behaviours for Learning and the self-evaluation that pupils carry out with guidance from their Review Tutor.  Pupils discuss their achievements and evaluate discrete elements of the Personal Development Curriculum based on the Behaviours for Learning.

Formal Teacher assessment takes place at Key Stage 3 in all Citizenship lessons.  It is based on all four areas (History, Geography, RE and English) which are then aggregated to give an overall standard of their progress.  The results are devised in the following way across the four subject areas:

T-  = 0 POINTS

T   = 1 POINTS

T+ = 2 POINTS

6-8 POINTS = WORKING BEYOND THE EXPECTATION

3-5 POINTS = WORKING AT THE EXPECTATION

0-2 POINTS = WORKING TOWARDS THE EXPECTATION

Pupil Assessments are moderated across all four disciplines to ensure a consistent approach.  The assessment in Citizenship is reported to parents during the End of Year Review day.
