The music department is a lively and thriving department in school and is always full of musical activity. In music lessons you will be provided a wide range of opportunities in the areas of performing, composing, listening and appraising, and use of music technology. Not only will you develop musically and broaden your musical horizons, you will build on important skills such as communication, listening and thinking skills through working individually and in groups.  At Key Stage 4 you can choose to study the Eduqas GCSE Music course or the NCFE Level 2 Technical Award in Music Technology. There are many extra-curricular activities and groups for you to join from singing in a choir to instrumental groups and ensembles.  Alternatively if you want somewhere to go to work on your own projects or practice individually, then there are practice rooms, a keyboard room and ICT suite available for you to book and use during breaks, lunchtime and the end of the school day.
