SEA gymnasts from Hope Acrobatic Gymnastics Club were in action in Sunderland last weekend at the South Tyneside International Acro Cup. This is the first big competition of the season and attracts the top clubs and gymnasts from around the UK. There were some huge successes for the school's gymnasts.
Isobel Stirrup (10H) competed in the Grade 5 Women's Group with her trio and won a gold medal for their Dynamic routine with an incredible score of 26.750. They followed this up with a bronze in their Balance routine. Their combined score also made them overall champions.
Emma Green (9B) was in action in the Grade 5 Women's Pair with her partner. After being in 3rd place after the first round Balance routine and earning a bronze medal, a tremendous performance in their Dynamic routine earned them a gold medal. Their stunning routine also saw them overtake their rivals to win the overall title.
Hannah Gannon (8G) and and her partners were in a hugely competitive Grade 3 Women's Group category with 25 other trios competing. They produced an amazing performance to win the gold medal. In the same category, Hattie Lloyd (8G) and Eva Booth (9S) also won a fantastic bronze medal for their 3rd place finish with Jessica Bithell (Y7) and her trio in a very creditable 7th place.
