On Tuesday evening our Y10 football team continued their journey in the English knock-out Cup with a 4th round match V's a team from Cheshire.
Our team took a early and well deserved lead and had other opportunities in the half to increase the lead, however missed chances resulted in the match ending the first half in a 1;1 draw. The stalemate continued throughout the second half where Eddies where up against it for the large periods. However with some stalwart defending and some superb goal keeping the game was taken to penalties.
It was a nerve-wracking end to the game, but with 5 confident volunteers to take penalties they all slotted them away, leaving the Cheshire team's 5th penalty-taker with the task of keeping them in the tie, However, unfortunately he kicked the ball over the bar which handed the well deserved victory to Eddies! It really was a great game, which was played in a superb competitive spirit against a tough opposition, Now the journey continues into the 5th round.
Well done to all the players for their level of team work and professionality and also to Mr Bradley for his continued support. #POSITIVEACTIONcreatesgreatoutcomes
