Pupils from Y7-10 Climate Change Project visited the Liverpool World Museum over 2 days to look at various collections such as the Bug House, World Cultures, Western Discovery Centre, Dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt and Space, Time and Planetarium.
The main aim of the trip was to see the Endangered Planet exhibition where students were able to see how large natural areas of our world are under threat. They were able understand what the threats are and how they can help including reducing the amount of plastic we use.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed visiting the aquarium where they were able to get up close with hermit crabs, starfish and brightly coloured wrasse from Liverpool’s Irish Sea coast. Some pupils popped their heads in the viewing bubbles to see terrapins immersed in the water - (they are rescued pets and love to see a friendly face!) Here they were able to learn about conservation efforts to protect our seas, discover where animals live and even what you might find rock-pooling locally and across the UK.
Pupils really enjoyed this trip and would love to return again in the future.
