Our Year 11 students participated in an exciting Interview Day hosted in collaboration with local businesses. This event gave students a valuable opportunity to experience real-world job interviews and gain insight into the skills and professionalism employers look for.

Representatives from a range of local companies, including Wigan Council, NHS Wigan, Aecon, Computer Centre and several independent businesses from across the borough, volunteered their time to conduct mock interviews. Students had the chance to showcase their communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in a supportive environment.

The event aimed to prepare students for their future careers by:

  • Developing interview skills in a realistic setting

  • Receiving constructive feedback from professionals

  • Understanding workplace expectations and career pathways

Students left the day feeling more confident and motivated. One student commented, “It was great to practice answering questions and get advice from people actually working in the industries I’m interested in.”

We are incredibly grateful to our local business partners for supporting this initiative and helping our students take their first steps towards successful careers.
