On Thursday 21 May 2026, the Year 10 GCSE History students visited the Thackray Medical Museum in Leeds to support their study of Medicine in Britain.

Throughout the day, students explored a range of interactive galleries and activities linked to their GCSE course, including the Victorian operating theatre, the development of surgery galleries, and the immersive “Disease Street” experience, which brought the sights, sounds, and smells of the past to life. Students also enjoyed exploring the museum independently and revisiting key topics covered in lessons in a new and engaging way.

The trip was a great opportunity for students to experience history beyond the classroom while preparing for their GCSE exams. Students represented the school brilliantly throughout the day and approached every activity with enthusiasm and curiosity.
