St Peter’s 16: St Edmund Arrowsmith 6
Our Year 9 side put in a committed and spirited performance in their final match, but ultimately fell short against St Peter’s in a game that was not without its controversy.
Eddies started the match strongly, taking control of possession and territory early on. Their pressure was rewarded with the opening score, giving them a deserved lead. However, despite dominating large periods of the first half, Eddies were unable to convert this control into further points, something that would prove costly as the game progressed. St Peter’s grew into the contest and struck just before half-time to level the scores, shifting momentum at a crucial stage.
The 2nd half continued in much the same vein, with Eddies showing great resilience in both attack and defence. The team continued to battle and created opportunities, but were unable to claw their way back into the game.
Nevertheless, this is a talented and determined group, and the coaching team is confident that they will learn from this experience. Their development, resilience and commitment this season have been outstanding, and there is a shared determination that this group will not leave St Edmund Arrowsmith without a title to their name!
Congratulations to the team for reaching the final and well done to the coaches for their fantastic efforts this year!
