Welcome to a Fresh School Year
As we step into a brand new academic year, we are met with new opportunities and new beginnings, whether you’re a returning student or someone just starting your journey here at Eddies.
The first month has already brought excitement and momentum – from reconnecting with friends and teachers to getting involved in new subjects, clubs and sports. We’ve both had the privilege of speaking with many of you over the past few weeks and we can’t wait to see what this year has in store.
We would like to congratulate all the prefects and senior prefects for achieving their fabulous roles for this year. Already, they have made a fantastic start to their duties, beginning the new year well. After the recent open evening, staff were impressed with how well they conducted themselves, shining a positive light on our school community. The school received great feedback too, so well done guys!
When interviewed about the new team of prefects, Mrs Cunliffe said, “They are exceptional! The strongest team of prefects we have had so far!”
Extracurricular activities have kicked off (literally!) this month, from rugby to netball. Shout out to the year 11 football team, who played Shevington, with an outstanding last minute winner! It’s also great to see the Year 7's getting involved in activities, whether it’s sport or not. Special mention to Joshua Mfunyi, who played in an under 13s football tournament in the Netherlands this month for Liverpool, managing to win the competition, but also be awarded as the best defender. Congratulations!
We also encourage everyone to get involved in something new this term, whether its trying out for a team, joining a club, or volunteering for a school event. These moments are what help shape the most memorable parts of our school experience.
There’s so much more to come this year, and we are excited to be on this journey with you all as your Head Boy and Head Girl.
Best wishes,
Eve and Joshua
