Easter Blog

With the Easter holidays fast approaching, it’s safe to say that school life has been as busy and exciting as ever.

This term has been particularly memorable for our Key Stage 3 students. The Year 8 trip to Paris was a definite highlight, offering a fantastic opportunity to experience French culture first-hand. It was wonderful to hear how students embraced every moment and represented the school so positively. Meanwhile, our Year 9 students had an incredible opportunity to travel to New York with the Maths Department—an experience that proved to be both enriching and unforgettable.

Back in school, Careers Week was a great success. Students from all year groups took part in a wide range of activities, talks, and workshops designed to inspire and inform their future pathways. It was fascinating to explore the many possibilities available for life after Eddies.

In addition, recent degree apprenticeship talks from former pupils at JP Morgan and BAE Systems provided valuable insight into alternative post-school pathways. Learning about the combination of work and study opened many students’ eyes to the wide range of opportunities available beyond traditional routes.

We were also delighted to see the Year 8 girls take part in the CyberFirst trip to Glasgow. This experience offered valuable insight into the rapidly growing field of cybersecurity, while also helping students develop key problem-solving and teamwork skills. Opportunities like this are so important in preparing students for the future, and it was fantastic to see such enthusiasm from everyone involved.

As we look ahead, many of our Year 11 students are preparing for their GCSE examinations. This is an important and sometimes challenging time, but we encourage everyone to stay focused, make use of the support available, and believe in their abilities. All the hard work put in so far will truly make a difference.

We wish all our students, families, and staff a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Easter break. We hope this time provides an opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy special moments together. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed, inspired, and ready for a successful term ahead.
