SEA gymnasts from Hope Acrobatic Gymnastics Club have been in action over the last few weeks and have achieved great success.

It will be a busy few weeks ahead for SEA gymnasts. Hannah Gannon will travel with her trio to Portugal for the Maia International Acro Cup, to test themselves against Europe's best. Former students Mia Ellison and Isobel Stirrup will also be there to compete with their partnerships.

The other members of the squad will travel to the Leeds Acro Invitational next weekend to warm up for March's North West Prelims - the qualifying event for the national finals at the end of May.

Anticipation is building for SEA's Under 16 Girls team as they prepare for the British Schools Finals in Stoke-on-Trent on the first weekend of May. Emma Green, Isla Cook, Eva Booth, Hattie Lloyd, Lola Sitko and Jessica Bithell will represent the school with high hopes of repeating their 2024 Under 14s victory and becoming double British Schools Champions.  Former students from SEA are still competing (and coaching) at the club and it is lovely to see an ex-student from years ago, Megan Kilmurray who is still enjoying her chosen sport (on the last photo).

An incredible performance from Hannah's partnership saw them win gold in the FIG Pre-Youth (11-16) Women's Group against a field of top class gymnasts in the age group.

Last weekend, the squad headed to the Spelthorne International Acro Cup in Sunbury-on-Thames, featuring world class gymnasts from the UK, alongside the German and Irish National squads. [Emma (back right) and Isla (back right)]

Emma Green and Isla Cook (both Y11) have recently been placed together in a new trio, with Emma transitioning from a 'Top' to a 'Base'. They competed for the first time together with their young Top, Olivia, at Spelthorne. An extraordinary debut performance saw them win gold in a huge field of 35 trios in the Grade 4 Women's Group category. Lola Sitko (Y9) alongside her two partners competed in the same category. A thrilling performance early in the day saw them briefly top the standings and eventually finish in a highly creditable 7th/35.  [Eva (back left) and Libby (back right)]

Like Emma, Libby Williams (Y8) has recently made the transition from Top to Base, and alongside Eva Barron (also Y8) and their partner Olivia, produced a fantastic performance to finish 5th/33 in the Grade 3 Women's Group. [Hattie (back left)]

Hattie Lloyd and Jessica Bithell (both Y10) competed at 'Aspire' level for the first time and both showed huge potential. Hattie and her trio finished 10th, and Jessica's trio 14th in a strong field of 31 partnerships. [Jessica (back left)]

Eva Booth (Y11) with her partner Evelyn also showed great potential with a 10th place finish in the highly competitive Grade 4 Women's Pair in a huge field of 40 partnerships. [Mia Ellison (right)]

Former students from SEA continue to compete at the top level of Acrobatic Gymnastics with Hope. Mia Ellison (class of 2024) won a bronze medal in the IDP2 Women's Group category, while Isobel Stirrup (Class of 2025) narrowly missed out on a medal with a 4th place finish in the IDP1 Women's Groups. [Isobel Stirrup (left)]
