Stock Market Challenge

A huge congratulations to our Year 10 team, who secured an impressive 2nd place out of 25 schools in the recent Stock Market Challenge competition — a fantastic achievement and a real credit to everyone involved.

 

The Stock Market Challenge gave pupils the opportunity to experience the fast-paced world of professional investing. Working in teams on a live trading floor, students bought and sold shares and foreign currency, researched market news, made decisions under pressure and worked strategically to increase the value of their investment fund.

Designed as a skills development and cross-curricular activity, the challenge recreates the excitement of a real trading floor and helps students develop key skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, analysis and decision-making.

Each team was given £15,000 to invest across nine companies and the US dollar, with the aim of maximising the value of their portfolio through careful planning and quick thinking.

We are incredibly proud of how our pupils represented St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School throughout the competition.
