Gymnasts from the SEA competed at the North West Schools Prelims in Lancaster.

It was a great day for the girls who had to perform in partnerships to represent their school rather than their club as usual. The girls loved competing with schoolmates rather than in their usual partnerships.

Winners in each age category would qualify to compete at the British National Schools Final in Stoke in April.

Hannah Gannon, Isla Cook, Emma Green, Eva Booth, Hattie Lloyd and Lola Sitko competed in the Under 14 Women's Group 6. They produced a wonderfully polished performance to win convincingly, defeating the reigning British Schools Champions from Lancaster Girls Grammar School in the process.

There will be high hopes of success for the girls in the national finals. Here they are performing the balance section of their routine and being awarded their gold medals.  (Photo shows Hannah and Lola presented with their gold medal and a place in the national final)

The six girls also went head to head in the Under 14s Women's pairs. Hannah Gannon and Lola Sitko made it a memorable day as they won another gold!

SEA Gymnasts dominated the category as Emma and Isla, and Hattie and Eva made it a clean sweep of the medals for the school, with Chloe Smith and Lily Cunningham finishing just outside the medals also.

There was further success for two former students. Mia Ellison and Holly Williams, of the class of 2023, won gold in the Under 19 Women's Pairs representing St. John Rigby College.

Isobel Stirrup with Ava Earley, and Amelia Roberts with Freya Cross also competed in the category and were very unfortunate to miss out on the medals after great performances.

The winners will head to Stoke in April with a great chance of national success representing the school.
