YEAR 7 NUMERACY AWARDS CLUB In Year 7 all pupils are invited to attend weekly sessions and you will be able to demonstrate and develop your numeracy skills in order to win bronze, silver and gold awards and badges.
YEAR 8 MATHS ROADSHOW In Year 8 you will compete in pairs with a member of your form to gain the most points from tackling a series of challenging problems. Prizes are given for the best pair in each form and a trophy awarded to the winning house.
YEAR 9 FINANCIAL AWARENESS PROGRAMME In Year 9 you will spend a week learning about money – how it is earned, how it is spent and how to look after it. You will learn about wages, taxes, national insurance, banking, loans and credit, saving and the use of technology in the money world. Your week will finish with a whole year quiz to see if you can remember everything you have learned with prizes given to the winning team.
UKMT CHALLENGES If you are an able mathematician in Year 7 to Year 10 then you will be entered into the individual UKMT Junior or Intermediate Challenge, where you can win certificates and entry to further extended challenges. We also participate in the UKMT Team Challenge where a team of 4 (2 from Year 8 and 2 from Year 9) compete against other schools to move forward into national finals.
