It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Fr Joseph Weston from St Benedict's Parish in Hindley.
He was a truly wonderful man who meant so much to so many of our staff and students and will be missed by many.
Fr Weston had been serving the parish at St Benedict's since the early 1980's and would have celebrated his Diamond Jubilee (Sixty Years) of Priesthood in just a few weeks time.
A Mass is being celebrated for the repose of his soul this evening (Friday 1st May) by the Dean of Wigan, Fr Aidan Kelly. This Mass will be live streamed on Facebook at the following link if anyone wishes to join in prayer: https://www.facebook.com/Fr-Giorgios-Liturgy-106112587719071/
Please keep Fr Weston, the parish of St Benedict's and all those who are affected in any way by his passing in your prayers and ask that the risen Lord welcome him home.
