What a great start to the year! I have been so impressed with pupils' behaviour and the standard of their uniform since our return from the summer holidays. Many thanks for supporting us in our mission to provide the best possible education for your children, it is always greatly appreciated!

As I sat in my office after school today, I could hear the song ‘When I grow up’ from the Matilda rehearsals emanating from the Hall and it sounded fantastic from 50 yards away.  I cannot wait to hear and see it in the Hall in a few weeks! I will be writing to parents with details about how to get your tickets very soon. Please buy your tickets early as our school productions sell out very quickly and I expect this one to sell out quicker than ever before.

I have had the privilege of seeing extra-curricular activities back in full swing this week and I am absolutely delighted by the turn outs from the pupils, whether it be boys football, girls rugby, choir rehearsals or the school production I love seeing the pupils using their God-given gifts and talents to do something they really enjoy.

A final mention to our Year 7 pupils who are settling in superbly, I am delighted with their start to life at ‘Eddies’. Some of them already knew I was a Wigan Warriors supporter and have delighted in telling me they support St Helens, Leigh or Warrington!

We are all looking forward to our Open Evening next Wednesday when we showcase our best commodity- the amazing staff and pupils we have at our school.
