The Y8 rugby team travelled over to Saddleworth yesterday (Thurs 17 Nov 2024) to play the same teams that they have previously lost to (20-0). So it wasn't an easy journey, full of trepidation, but the sun was shining and the lads were excited to play!
Our lads were energetic and physical, but sometimes maybe too eager to make a tackle and this left gaps in our defence, allowing Saddleworth to take the lead. However, it wasn't long before the team got into their rhythm and dominated with and without the ball. They did concede a couple of tries against the run of play which made the final score seem closer than the game felt. The fantastic final score was Eddies 22: Saddleworth 16!:
The team deserve every congratulations for the win, but especially for not showing any nerves or intimidation against a side that had beat them so heavily last time! They were professional in their outlook and used the previous match as an opportunity to try harder and play better - which is an excellent lesson learned. Well done!! #INSPIRATIONALACTIONS
